Newest international spirits competition medal awarded to 68 Below vodka placed on bottle 8-28-20.
Fairbanks Distilling Company’s 68 Below vodka is the most awarded spirit made in Alaska. We are so proud to have recently received our newest medal, a silver medal from the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). This competition was held at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco and there were almost 3,000 entries from all corners of the World. With nearly two decades of experience, the SFWSC is one of the world’s most respected spirits competitions due in large part to their esteemed judges. Each with a distinct story and trusted palate, these seasoned experts are one of the reasons an SFWSC medal indicates the highest caliber of quality. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the globe’s most-important spirit’s contest with 34 of the world’s finest palates blind tasting the libations, ranging from the pedestrian to the exclusive. In past years, this competition discovered St. Germain and Canton Ginger liqueurs before most stores carried them. Naturally, with so many entries, most spirits do not even medal… so for a small distillery like our Fairbanks Distilling Company to win a silver in this prestigious competition and the only medal for Alaska is a great win for our community and state.
